  2.                     MERLIB The FORTRAN subroutine library
  3.  
  4. This archive is a description of a  collection of about 100 subroutines,
  5. functions, and stand alone utilities written in FORTRAN-77. This is a
  6. collection of public domain stuff from the Digital Equipment Corp User
  7. Society VAX pd software tape. Most of the routines are completely
  8. ANSI standard and will require little or no modification to compile
  9. with PC type compilers. A few contain some VAX System Services Calls,
  10. but these statements can be replaced with routines written in C or
  11. Assembly Language, or whatever.
